A Moving Guide
Are you moving near Brentwood Tennessee? You will have many decisions to make and things to do before you are fully settled in your new home.
Make sure you get all of the supplies on your packing list- There’s nothing worse than running out of tape or finding that no one packed your favorite mug. If you’re still packing, make sure to pack everything in the order that it needs to be unpacked.
If you’re using a moving company make sure your moving company knows what items are fragile or delicate and instruct them on how they should handle these types of things (you may want some sort of blanket over any glassware).
When you reach your new home, make sure to take everything out of the moving truck and put it in a safe place before unpacking. If possible unpack room by room so that nothing is forgotten or misplaced.
Your first night in your new house might not be as comfortable as you would like because there will always be a few things that need to be fixed or put in order.
If you are the one doing most of the work and organizing your move, there is still plenty for you to do! Make sure all of your utilities have been transferred over and turned on before moving into your new home. You will also want to check with local utility companies about how much water they allow per month so as not to go over their usage limits.
Start packing early so everything is ready when it’s time to move- We recommend starting 3 weeks before the big day! This way there is plenty of time for anything unexpected.
Label boxes clearly with what they contain- Labeling boxes will save you time and frustration in the long run, especially if you need to unpack a box that has been misplaced for years.
